Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof automatic star-delta starter type ASDS/76 rated upto 250 HP, 500/550 V AC, 3 phase, 50 Hz with Ammeter and Voltmeter of DGMS approval no. 126 Group-I of 1976 having cover window of toughened glass (6.5 mm) bearing identification mark “SAFEX” type A&C and with earth leakage and overload protection devices having incoming, outgoing and trunking arrangement with detachable cable sealing box and glands on the incoming and outgoing sides conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India– Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61521/2023/Electrical (HQ) dated 21.02.2023 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 126 Group-I of 1976) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 299/B/76/1607/EHQ dated 17.12.1976 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 16.04.2025 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under this approval, conforming to the latest applicable testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
