Joy Global (UK) Ltd., for use in below-ground Coal Mines -Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021|62503|2025|Electrical (HQ) dated 20/08/2025, on the above subject and test report nos. as per Annexure-II, Drawing No. 5100022406 and electrical diagram No.100895997, and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 4691/2020) vide this Directorate's letter No. E-29021|20168|2018|Electrical (HQ) dated 24/11/2020 for a period of five years, i.e., up to 16.10.2030, for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with.
Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
Conditions: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, for Flameproof and Intrinsically safe electrical equipment (As per Annexure-II of the original DGMS Approval No. 4691/2020.) associated with Feeder Breaker, Model: UFB-17B-77-105C, manufactured by M/s. Joy Global (UK) Ltd for use in the below-ground Coal Mines in India.
1. Valid test reports conforming to the applicable IEC 60079-11:2023 standards for Intrinsically safe electrical equipment elaborated at serial numbers 2,9,12,14, and 15, as mentioned in Annexure-II, must be submitted to this Directorate within three (03) months from the date of issue of the renewal permission. Failing this, the permission is liable to be withdrawn without further communication.
