Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof and weatherproof control panel, in M.S. fabricated & cast iron construction rated up to 600 A, up to 500 V AC(max.), designated by type no. FLP-RH-SB-13 manufactured by M/s. Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai-400053, conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC: 60079-1:2014 for use in belowground Coal Mines––Permissible variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021|62692|2026|Electrical (HQ), dated 05/01/2026 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

The matter has been examined, and based on the CIMFR Test and Assessment Report No. IN/CIMFR/TR20/3167 dated 06.11.2020, along with the submitted drawing of the flameproof weatherproof control panel vide drawing no: FEPL/PANEL/SB/13, REV 02, dated: 18.09.2020, and Amendment letter no. CIMFR /FES/Amend. / FEPL/125/25-26 Dated 18/09/2025, the following permissible variation is hereby allowed, without affecting the flameproof features of the apparatus, and subject to compliance with the conditions stipulated in DGMS Approval No. 631 of 2011.

1. “The said FLP-WP Control Panel of Direct entry type can be used with certified and approved FLP/WP double compression type Brass Ni plated threaded type cable glands Type: FLP-RH-GL-01 to FLP-RH-GL-13 (Max. 30nos. on top side of the enclosure, 30 nos. on the bottom side of the enclosure & 8 nos. on the LHS of the enclosure) as per approved Drg. No. FEPL/PANEL/SB/13 REV -02 Dt. 18/09/2020 without any change in the Flameproof features of the Enclosure.
2. The Dimension should be read as 720 x 930 x 415 (Main Enclosure) & 370 x 370 x 230 (Transformer Enclosure certified & approved Type FLP-RH-6000CI).
3. The Transformer Enclosure can be used as an FLP-WP Junction box of Type FLP-RH-6000-CI with certified and approved FLP/WP double compression type Brass Ni plated threaded type cable glands, Type: FLP-RH-GL-01 to FLP-RH-GL-13 (Max. 3nos. on each side of the enclosure).

This letter shall always be accompanied by any previous letters for inclusion of permissible variations, Directorate’s approval, and renewal thereof.
