Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof/weatherproof light fittings, within built control gear or separate control gear mounted inside the enclosure in MS fabricated construction, suitable for rating upto 6x26 W CFL, 110 V AC, designated by type No- FLP-RH-FT-04 manufactured by M/s- Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 for use in belowground Coal Mines– Permissible Variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 61808 dated 18.01.2024 and the offline letter no. FEPL/HBD/DGMS/2894/2023-24 dated 19.01.2024 on the above mentioned subject.
The matter has been examined and based on the CIMFR Test Report No. IN/CIMFR/TR23/S/H307 dated 12.12.2023, following permissible variation may be allowed without affecting the flameproof features of the subject equipment subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in approval no. 619 of 2011.
"Alternatively the said flameproof LED light fitting in MS fabricated construction with flat toughened glass with inbuilt ON-OFF switch/isolator (direct entry type without terminal box) upto and including 4 nos. of FLP mining type cable glands or FLP double compression type threaded cable glands with optional provision for MS wire guard and internal reflector suitable for LED of rating upto 90W (3x30W or 2x45W) at 110V AC supply."
This letter shall always be accompanied with the approval No.619 of 2011 issued vide this Directorate letter no. 306/273/EHQ dated 04.02.2011 and Directorate’s valid approval and renewal letter under reference.
