Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically Safe Electrical apparatus incorporated/associated with the Sandvik Twin Boom Mobile Bolter machine, Type-DM-110, manufactured by M/s. Sandvik Underground Mining Flameproof Equipment, Australia for use in belowground Coal Mines – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application no. E-29021/62433/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 30/06/2025 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval(DGMS  Approval No. 711 of 2016) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 608/1036/EHQ dated19.05.2016 for a further period of Two years, i.e. up to 06/08/2027 for use in belowground Coal Mines.

The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with, and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before. The latest reports conforming to the IS/IEC-60079-11: 2023 standard shall be submitted within three months after issue of this letter. 

The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
