Subject:- Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically Safe electrical equipment (as mentioned in Annexure-A to be associated with Road Header, Model- EBZ 260 manufactured by M/s. Joy Global (UK) Ltd., conforming to IEC 60079-0:2017; IEC 60079-1:2014, and IEC 60079-11:2011 for use in below-ground coal mines in India –Renewal Approval thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/62102/2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 28/10/2024 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in the exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under regulation 208(3)of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 757 of 2019 ) granted regular approval vide this Directorate's letter No. 483/537/ EHQ dated: 21/06/2019 for a further period of two years, i.e. upto 21.06.2026 for use in belowground CoalMines in India. In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the machine/Equipment. Additionally, the test reports for all electrical apparatus, specifically the Twin Solenoid by Schienle Magnettechnik GmbH (listed as item no. 20 in Annexure-A), covered under the approval, must be submitted within three months—unless already submitted—conforming to the latest applicable standards.

Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.

List for Flameproof and Intrinsically Safe apparatus incorporated/associated with Road Header, Model- EBZ 260 manufactured by M/s. Joy Global (UK) Ltd., conforming to IEC 60079-0:2017; IEC 60079-1:2014, and IEC 60079-11:2011 for use in coal mines in India under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations,2017 (DGMS approval no. 757 of 2019).
