Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically safe electrical equipment (as mentioned in Annexure-B) associated with Road header EBZ-160, manufactured by M/s. Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co. Ltd., China, and user M/s. Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. for use in the below-ground Coal Mines– Renewal thereof.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 730 of 2017) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 625/1668/EHQ dated 29.12.2017 for further period of two years, i.e. up to 01.10.2027 for use in belowground Coal Mines under the conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with. Further, the test reports of all electrical items covered under this approval, conforming to the latest standards, i.e., IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, and IS/IEC 60079-11:2023, along with the QARs/BIS certificates from the manufacturers, shall be submitted to this Directorate within three (03) months from the date of issue of the renewal permission. Failing this, the approval shall be liable to withdrawal without further communication.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
