 Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Intrinsically Safe Signalling Bell and Bell Transformer manufactured by M/s Safex (India), Dhanbad conforming to  IS/IEC 60079-0:2011,   IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS/IEC 60529:2001 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India – Renewal thereof.

 Please refer to your online application no. E-29021/62277/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 18/03/2025, and CIMFR test report no.IN/CIMFR/TR20/ H 14 dated 28/05/2020 of Flame proof power unit box and test report no.IN/CIMFR/TR23/H 113 dated 27/06/2023, BIS Licence no. CM/L-5028855 (IS/IEC 60079-11:2011) and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

 I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 445 of 1996) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 429/263/EHQ dated 13.03.1996 for a further period of five years, i.e. up to 18.06.2030 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with.

  Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
