Subject:- Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Three Phase FlameproofH.T. Induction Motor in Frame Size KF450 rated 600 KW, 4 Pole, 6.6 KV manufactured by M/s. Marathon Electric Motors (India) Ltd. for use in belowground coal mines- Permissible variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 61843 dated 07.03.2024, test reports, and other supporting documents submitted therewith on the above-mentioned subject.
The matter has since been examined and based on the CIMFR test report no. IN/CIMFR/TR20/1220 dated 03.06.2020 and the associated drawing nos. as detailed at sl. no.13 of the above test report, the following permissible variation is allowed without affecting the flameproof features of the subject equipment subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in approval No. 799 of 2022.
1.    Apparatus covered under regular approval no.799 of 2022:
      "Three PhaseFlameproof H.T. Induction Motor in Frame Size KF450 rated 600 KW, 4 Pole, 6.6 KV conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2011 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 manufactured by M/s. Marathon Electric Motors (India) Ltd. "
2.    Permissible variation allowed under this approval: 
      “Three PhaseFlameproof H.T. Induction Motor in Frame Size KF450 rated 600 KW, 4 Pole, up to 6.6 KV conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2011 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 manufactured by M/s. Marathon Electric Motors (India) Ltd”.

 This letter shall always be accompanied with the approval no. 799 of 2022 issued online vide reference no. E-29021/61721/2023/Electrical(HQ), Dhanbad dated 25.01.2024.Test reports as per the latest applicable standards shall be submitted within three months from the date of issue of this approval failure to which this permissible variation is deemed to be withdrawn.
