Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof Pull Cord Switch, Type EPC-1 rated at 550 V, 10 A, 50 Hz, single phase in cast iron construction manufactured by M/S Electrical Equipment Corporation, Gurgaon conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS /IEC 60529:2001(Reaffirmed 2014) for use in belowground Coal Mines– Renewal thereof.

Reference: The test report no. CIMFR vide no. IN/CIMFR/TR22/R/H 182     dated 29/07/2022  and  CIMFR certified drawing no. EEC/FLP/PCS/2007  Rev.01  (Sheet 01 to 06 )  dated : 01/09/2020

Please refer to your online application no. E-29021|62441|2025|Electrical (HQ) dated 09/07/2025 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted this regard.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval No. 207 of 1981 granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 362/422/EHQ dated 01.04.1981 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 08/09/2027, for use in belowground Coal Mines in India.

In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the apparatus. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with.

The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
