Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for DGMS approval no. 615 of 2010 of flameproof/weatherproof Pull Cord Switch in cast iron construction rated at 30V ac/dc, designated by type no. PCS-014 manufactured by M/S Mining Equipment Corporation, Gurgaon conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IEC 60529 : 1989 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2007 for use in belowground Coal Mines– Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/51236/2022/Electrical (HQ), dated 07.05.2022 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 615 of 2010) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 536/2742/EHQ dated 07.09.2010 for a further period of five years, i.e. up to 07.09.2026 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the lat6est standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
