Subject: Approval of Permitted Copper Coated Instantaneous Electric Detonators (CDET Electra-P) for use in belowground gassy coal mines/seams of first degree manufactured by M/s CDET Explosive Industries Private Limited, Nagpur – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID No. 62087 dated 09.10.2024, and offline documents submitted vide  letter no. SAR/DGMS/2024-25/065/HD; dated 22^nd Oct 2024 on the above subject.

In view of the satisfactory performance report from the mines. I, in exercise of powers conferred upon me under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 hereby renew the approval granted vide this Directorate’s letter No. S 66021/21/2012-Genl/187 dated 22.01.2013 for a  further period of two years i.e. up-to 21.01.2027 or till phase out of the electric detonator as per the guidelines and the timeframe governed by the Gazette notification no. S.O. 4255(E) of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce regarding phasing out of the electric detonator, whichever is earlier., subject to the following condition.

1. All precaution in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 applicable for transport, storage, handling, charging, use and firing of the explosive in underground coal mines shall be observed.
2. Any accident, injuries including loss of lives or properties caused due to defects of malfunctioning of this product shall be adequately indemnified by the manufacturer in agreement with the users.
3. The factory inspection may be made by an officer of this Directorate, if felt necessary, any time to assess/reassess capability of the manufacturer in respect of quality control, testing and other facilities.
