Subject:Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically Safe electrical equipment (as mentioned in Annexure-B) associated with Feeder Breaker, model No. OFB-1212, manufactured by Mis. Ontark Enginggering Pvt. Ltd., Australia conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India.– Renewal thereof.
Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61913/2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 05/08/2024 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 750 of 2019) granted vide this Directorate's letter No.626/289/EHQ, Dhanbad, dated: 25/03/2019 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 05/08/2026 for use in belowground Coal Mines.
In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the machine/equipment. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items especially the transformer Isolated solenoid driver and the temperature Module covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
