Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof, weatherproof and intrinsically Safe Electrical apparatus as detailed in Annexure-A of the approval no.751 0f 2019 conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS/IEC 60079-11:2011 associated with the Shuttle car, Type HC14B, manufactured by Phillips Global, Inc, United states for use in belowground Coal Mines – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61861/2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 16.03.2024 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard. 

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 751 of 2019) granted vide this Directorate's letter No.627/290/EHQ, Dhanbad dated 25.03.2019 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 24.03.2026 for use in belowground Coal Mines.  The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval and especially the pressure switch and the diagnostic display, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, failing which the approval may be withdrawn. In the course of the operation and maintenance of the machinery, the guidelines issued by OEM shall be strictly followed and the spares, supplied by OEM shall only be made use of in the interest of safety. 

The renewal application should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
