Joy Global (UK) Ltd. for use in belowground Coal Mines in India-Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61930//2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 31.05.2024 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No.587 of 2009) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 483/413/EHQ dated 12.04.2005 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 01.09.2026 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India. In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the machine/Equipment. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.

(Note: In the original regular approval No.587 of 2009 granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 483/413/EHQ dated 12.04.2005, the apparatus at sl.no.4 i.e. FLP Light Fittings(Head Light), mode: lFSR1 12-24 V DC has been replaced with the apparatus as mentioned at sl.no.4 in the above table i.e. with FLP/WP LED MINING LUMINAIRE, ML100, 12-24V AC/DC . The replacement apparatus was subjected to field trial vide application no. 40907 dated 15.09.2021 and after a successful field trial, regular approval was accorded vide letter no. 61813 dated 24.04.2024 (DGMS approval no.829 of 2024). Similarly, the apparatus at sl.no.8, i.e. FLP Connection Box, model MA001012-0016, 1100V, 250A, has been replaced with the apparatus as mentioned at sl.no.8 in the above table i.e. with FLP CONNECTION BOX, 5100019785, 3300V, 250A. The replacement apparatus was subjected to field trial vide application no. 40906 dated 15.09.2021 and after a successful field trial regular approval was accorded vide letter no. 61863 dated 20.06.2024 (DGMS approval no.832 of 2024).
