Sub:  Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof and intrinsically safe electrical equipment (as mentioned in Annexure-A) to be associated with  model-612 Drill  manufactured by M/s. Eimco Elecon (India) Ltd., Vallabh Vidyanagar  (Gujarat) for use in belowground Coal Mines – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/62336/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 03.05.2025,  on the above subject and test report nos. as per Annexure-A and other documents submitted therewith in this regard. 

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 664 of 2013) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 321/1563/EHQ dated 23.09.2013 for a further period of five years, i.e. up to 17.07.2030 for use in belowground Coal Mines. Test reports for the above and mentioned below mechanical conditions shall be submitted within 3 months to this Directorate

1. Stability test report of equipment and Non-destructive testing of all the load carrying members of the equipment, conforming to any internationally accepted standards, from any Govt. approved test house or NABL accredited laboratory.
2. Noise survey shall be conducted conforming to the DGMS circulars No. 18 of 1975 and 5 of 1990 or its revised version.
3. Canopy of the equipment shall confirm to any internationally accepted standards to assure operators protection
4. Operator’s vibration exposure limit shall be in accordance with ISO 2631
5. Visibility shall be in accordance with ISO 5006.
6. Test certificates of Fire resistant high pressure hydraulic hoses conforming to DGMS general order No. DGMS/Mech/Tech.Cir.(Approval) No.04 Date 13.02.2015.
7. Test certificates of Fire resistant hydraulic fluids conforming to DGMS general order No. DGMS/Mech/Tech.Cir.(Approval) No.02, Dated 13.02.2015.

 The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with. 

Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
