Sub-Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and intrinsically Safe Electrical apparatus as mentioned in the appended Annexure-B conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS/IEC 60079-11:2011 associated with the Feeder breaker Machine, Model- UFB-14B-3-7C manufactured by M/s. Joy Global(UK) Ltd for use in belowground Coal Mines – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/62649/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 05.12.2025 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 723 of 2017) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 483/454/EHQ dated 09.03.2017 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 18.02.2028 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
