Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically Safe equipment (As listed in Annexure ‘A’ ) incorporated/associated with the Continuous Miner CM230 manufactured and supplied by M/s.Caterpillar Global Mining America LLC (Presently taken over and maintained by M/s Gainwell Engineering Pvt Ltd.) conforming to IEC 60079-0:2017; IEC 60079-1:2014 and IEC 60079-11:2011 for use in below-ground coal mines in India – Renewal Approval thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/62073/2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 21/09/2024 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in the exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 758 of 2019) granted regular approval vide this Directorate's letter No. 530/963/EHQ dated: 10/12/2019 for a further period of five years, i.e. upto 10.12.2029 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India. In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the machine/Equipment. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with. The copy of the test report as per the latest applicable standards for the FLP Light, M/s.Mining Control LLC make, Model EX-36580-2, rated 9V-26V,2A must be submitted within three months from the date of issue of this approval.

Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
