Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof-cum-weatherproof junction box, type No. FLP-RH-01C rated at 60 A, upto 500 V AC or 15 A DC in cast iron grade FG200 construction of DGMS approval no. 510 of 2004 manufactured by M/S Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60529-2001(Reaffirmed 2014) for use in belowground Coal Mines– Permissible Variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 61565 dated 11.05.2023 and offline letter no. FEPL/HBD/DGD/DGMS/469/2023 dated 16.05.2023 on the above mentioned subject.
The matter has been examined and based on the CIMFR addendum certificate No. CIMFR/TC/FES/Adden./23-24/373 dated 15.05.2023, following permissible variation may be allowed without affecting flameproof features of the subject equipment subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in approval No. 510 of 2004 :-
“Flameproof / Weatherproof Junction Box Type: FLP-RH-01C can be used as FLP-WP Enclosure / Housing for mounting certified and approved Intrinsically Safe Power Supply Unit / Circuit designated by Type: IS-RH-PSU-01 vide test report no : IN/CIMFR/TR22/P/H114 dated 24/06/2022 as per IS:IEC 60079-11/2011 rated at input 110/550V AC & Output 9 / 12 /15 /24V DC with max current 350mA housed in certified and approved FLP Enclosure Box duly connected with FLP/WP Double Compression type Threaded Cable Glands designated by Type : FLP-RH-GL-01 to FLP-RH-GL-13 duly Certified & Approved for Gas Group 1 as per CIMFR Cert No: IN/CIMFR/TR21/S/4133 dated 22/02/2021 or Mining Type Cable Glands for use in Intrinsically Safe Network Communication System Type: FEPL-RH-NCS & Intrinsically Safe Audio Visual Alarm Type: IS-RH-AVA-01 by maintaining the FLP Features suitable for Gas Group 1 Atmosphere”.
This letter shall always be accompanied with the approval No.510 of 2004 issued vide this Directorate letter no. 306/556/EHQ dated 18.03.2004 and Directorate’s valid approval and renewal letter under reference.
