Subject: - Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof/weather proof LED light fitting, rated up to120W, 110VAC with or without Isolator/on-off Switch in MS/cast iron construction with flat toughened glass,

Type: FLP-RH-FT-01 suitable for Gas Group I atmosphere Manufactured by M/s Flameproof Equipments Pvt Ltd. Mumbai, for use in belowground coal mines in India – Permissible variation thereof.

Reference: (1) Field trial Approval No. 62130 issued vide Letter no.: E- 29021|62130|2024|Electrical (HQ), Dhanbad, Date: 17/01/2025.

                   (2) Regular Approval no. 856 of 2025 issued vide Letter No. E-29021/62335/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 17/07/2025.

                   (3) Corrigendum letter no. No. E-29021/62335/2025/Electrical (HQ)/ 214 dated 22/08/2025 for Regular Approval no. 856 of 2025.

Dear Sir,

Please refer to your online application no. E-29021/62684/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 02/01/2026 on the above subject & Amendment Report no. CIMFR/FES/Amend./FEPL/126/25-26 dated 18/09/2025 issued in conjunction with test report no. IN/CIMFR/TR24/ P/H300 dated 05/11/2024, Type examination certificate no. CMF 24 INEx 0337 dated 04/11/2024 & Drawing no. FEPL/RH/FT/01 Rev.0 (Sheet 1 of 1) dated 16/08/2024 of DGMS approval no. 856 of 2025 and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

The matter has since been examined and I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 and in reference to the above field trial and regular approvals granted by this Directorate, hereby approve the variations in dimensions of the above mentioned Flameproof/weather electrical apparatus for followings:-

1. The external dimension of the terminal enclosure housing/body which is to be read as 118 mm x 118 mm x 100 mm instead of 118 mm x 118 mm x 76 mm.
2.  The external dimension of the terminal enclosure cover  which is to be read as 118 mm x 118 mm instead of 118 mm x 140 mm.
3. The cable entries used will be up to 4 nos. either of mining type cable sealing glands or FLP double compression type threaded cable glands.
4. The name marking & warning plate will be of sticker type or riveted type fixed on the terminal cover or on the enclosure housing.

The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied.
