Sub: Approval No. 326 of 1993 under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof Power Box Unit, type - SI/T/01 rated at 550/110/15 V AC in cast iron construction manufactured by M/s. Safex(India), Dhanbad conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60529-2001 (Reaffirmed 2014) for use in belowground Coal Mines – Permissible variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. 61633 dated 24.07.2023 and letter No.SI/DGMS/326/23-24/61 dated 30.06.2023 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
The matter has been examined and based on the CIMFR test report No. IN/CIMFR/TR20/H14 dated 28.05.2020, following permissible variation is allowed without affecting flameproof features of the above apparatus subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in DGMS approval No. 326 of 1993:
1. The material of construction of the enclosure may be MS/SS with Cast iron grade FG 150 construction.
This letter shall always be accompanied by any previous letters for inclusion of permissible variations and Directorate’s approval and renewal thereof.
