Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flame proof and intrinsically safe electrical apparatus incorporated/associated with the crawler mounted electro-hydraulic low height side discharge loader SDL, Model NO. D 137/1000 manufactured by M/s Simplex Engineering & Foundry works Pvt ltd conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 for use in coal mines under regulation 181(3) of the coal mines regulation, 1957– Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61874/2024/Electrical (HQ) dated 30.03.2024 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (Approval No. 612 of 2001) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 612/EHQ dated 21.01.2001 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 06.06.2026 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical apparatus covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before. In the interest of safety, the OEM guideline shall be adhered to, and spares supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the machines.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
