Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017  of flameproof/weatherproof Well Glass Fitting, duly tested with cable glands/sealing boxes without separate terminal box, rated with 2 nos. of CFL lamps up to 26 W, 110 V AC with built-in control gear or 12 nos. of LEDs up to 26 W, 110 V AC in cast iron construction, designated by type No. FLP-WF-16 manufactured by M/S Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai for use in belowground Coal Mines– Permissible Variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID 61377 dated 03.10.2022 and offline letter no. FEPL/HBD/DGD/DGMS/2003/2022 dated 03.10.2022 on the above-mentioned subject.
 
The matter has since been examined and based on the CIMFR test report no. IN/ CIMFR/TR21/S/4134 dated 22.02.2021 & IN/ CIMFR/TR21/3632 dated 05.01.2021, CIMFR/FES/Adden/22-23/294, 14.10.2022 and CIMFR/FES/Clari./FEPL/22-23/305 dated 23.11.2022, and clarification letter ref. no. CIMFR/FES/CORR/Clari../22-23/308, dt 06/12/22 following permissible variation is hereby allowed subject to fulfilment of the conditions as stipulated in DGMS approval No.  649 of 2012:-
 
1. The said FLP/WP Well Glass Fitting of a type no. as mentioned above is suitable for use with 2 nos. of LED bulbs of rating up to 26W each i.e. max. up to 52 Watts.
 
This letter shall always be accompanied by the approval No.649 of 2012 issued vide this Directorate's letter no. 306/2684/EHQ dated 26.12.2012 and renewals thereof.
