Subject:  Approval of Supercoal-1 a P1 type permitted emulsion explosive (Code SEL/EM/03/P1-3) for use in gassy coal mines/seams of first-degree gassiness manufactured by M/s Solar Industries India Limited, Nagpur – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application vide ID no. 62273, dated 13.03.2025, offline letter No. Nil, dated 13.03.2025, and subsequent documents, performance reports submitted on the  above subject.

In view of the satisfactory performance reports from mines.  In exercise of the powers conferred on the Chief Inspector of Mines also designated as Director General of Mines Safety under regulation 208(3) & 2(zu) of the Coal Mines Regulations 2017, I, hereby grant renewal of Supercoal-1, a P1 type permitted emulsion explosives (Code SEL/EM/03/P1-3) for use in gassy coal mines/seams of first-degree gassiness manufactured by M/s Solar Industries India Limited, Nagpur.

The renewal of the Approval is subjected to the following conditions:

1. All the conditions of the approval granted by this Directorate vide letter No. 14(2) 2004-Genl/837 dated 26.04.2006 shall remain unchanged except the validity of the approval.
2. The validity of the renewal shall be for the period of 05 years i.e upto 25.04.2030.
3. Regulation 2(23) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 1957 mentioned the said letter shall be read as Regulation 2(zu) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017.
4. All precaution in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 applicable for transport, storage, handling, charging, use and firing of the explosive in underground coal mines shall be strictly followed.
5. Any accident, injuries including loss of lives or properties caused due to defects or  malfunctioning of this product shall be adequately indemnified by the manufacturer in agreement with the user(s).
6. Further renewal of the approval can be sought through the online portal  at least 90 days prior to the expiry of validity date.
