SUBJECT: DGMS Approval no - SA- 06/2007 under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 and 2(2) of the Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961intrinsically safe cum weather proof (IP-65) LED Miner’s Safety Cap Lamp type MCL-4LM manufactured by M/s FCG Hi-Tech Private Limited, Mumbai – Renewal thereof.

In view of the satisfactory test report from CSIR-CIMFR, I, in exercise of powers conferred on the Chief Inspector of Mines also designated as Director General of Mines Safety, hereby renew the approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, and 2 (2) of the Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961, of intrinsically safe cum weather proof (IP-65) LED Miner’s Safety Cap Lamp type MCL-4LM manufactured by M/s FCG Hi-Tech Private Limited, Mumbai for use in belowground Coal and Metalliferous mines subject to the compliance with the following conditions:

1. All the conditions of the approval granted (DGMS Approval no - SA- 06/2007) vide this Directorate vide letter No. S-66021/96/2006-Genl/5079, dated 12.11.2007, and amended vide this Directorate letter No. S-66021/96/2006-Genl/2375, dated 28.08.2012 shall remain applicable along with other conditions mentioned in this approval.
2. The manufacturer/applicant is required to submit the following test report i.e Thermal endurance test mentioned in clause 7.2; Enclosure tests mentioned in clause 26.4.1.2.1 & 2 (for group 1 equipment); Thermal endurance to heat and cold tests mentioned in clauses 26.8 and 26.9, respectively as per the IS 60079-11-2023 within three months from the date of issue of this letter.
3. The approval shall remain valid till the manufacturer has a valid BIS certification or the compliance of the point No. 2.
4. The product shall be tested at any Govt./Govt. Approved laboratory whenever standard of testing regime changes and the approval is revalidated from this Directorate under new/revised testing standard (s).
5. Further renewal of the approval can be sought through online application at least 60 days prior to the expiry of the validity.
6. The validity of the renewal shall be for the period of 06 months i.e. up to 30.08.2026.
