SA-01/2024 for Intrinsically Safe Rechargeable type Miner’s safety LED Cap Lamp with in-built RF Drive Circuit Type: IS-RH-LED-11 manufactured by M/s. Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai for use in underground coal mines. - Permissible Variation thereof

Dear Sir,

  Please refer to your online application no.62601 dated: 25/10/2025 and test reports enclosed therewith on the above-mentioned subject.

The matter has since been examined on the basis of Test & Assessment report No.IN/CIMFR/TR25/ S/H140 Dated: 05/08/2025 & Drg. No. FEPL/IS/LED/11, Rev-4, Dated. 21/06/2025 (for battery enclosure), Test & Assessment report no.IN/CIMFR/TR25/R/289 Dated. 29/05/2025, Type Examination Certificate No. CMF 25 INEx 0114, Issue No 0 Dated-28/05/2025 & Drg. No. FEPL/IS/LED/11, Rev-3, Dated - 21/02/2025 against revalidation as per IS IEC 60079-11/2023 & Clarification letter no. CIMFR/FES/Clari. /FEPL/167/ 25-26 Dtd.24/11/2025 issued by M/s. CSIR-CIMFR, Dhanbad. In exercise of the powers conferred on me under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, I, hereby grant the permissible variation approval for Intrinsically safe rechargeable type Miner’s Safety LED Cap Lamp with in-built RF Drive Circuit, Type: IS-RH-LED-11, manufactured by M/s. Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai for use in underground coal mines, subject to the following conditions.

1. All the conditions of the approval granted vide this Directorate letter No. MSE-29022/61818/2024/MSE(HQ); dated 30.04.2024 shall remain unchanged.
2. The Permissible variation approval is allowed without affecting Intrinsically safe features of the equipment subject to fulfilment of the conditions stipulated in the Directorate letter No. MSE-29022/61818/2024/MSE(HQ); dated 30.04.2024.
3. “The maximum rating of Li-ion battery pack, housed in the battery enclosure of size 101mm x 76mm x 35mm with cover having 4nos of screw / bolts will be up to 7.8 Ah ,3.7 Volts without any change in the Voltage, battery protection circuit, intrinsically safe circuit having max current 330 mA without any change in the design and Intrinsically safe features tested & certified earlier”.
4. This approval shall remain valid up to 30.04.2029 as per the letter no. MSE-29022/61818/2024/MSE(HQ); dated 30.04.2024 and/or till the date the manufacturer has a valid BIS certification.
