Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof composite power box unit with inbuilt start/stop provision for the operation of SDL/LHD machine along with audio visual alarm actuation and machine running hour indicator, type No. LT-02 for Gas Group-I manufactured by M/S Safex (India), Dhanbad conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IS/IEC 60529-2001 (Re-affirmed 2014) for use in belowground Coal Mines– Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application no.E-29021/62667/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 17/12/2025 and CIMFR test report no.IN/CIMFR/TR23/H 243 dated 21/09/2023 with type examination certificate no. CMF 23 INEx 0256 dated 20/09/2023 & Drawing no. SP/LT/285-10 (Sheet 1 to 3) Rev.01 dated 12/10/2020, BIS License No. CM/L- 5063756 with endorsement no. 51 dated 09/06/2025 and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 541 of 2006) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 429/69/EHQ dated 25/01/2006 for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 12/02/2028 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with.

Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
