Subject: Approval (SA-02/2013) of Miner’s Safety LED Cap Lamp Model “Smartlite-L” Manufactured by M/s Industrial Precision Products, Kolkata  -  Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your  online application Vide No. 62187 dated 08.01.2025 on the above subject.

The matter has been considered in light of what has been stated in your application and the  satisfactory performance report  recieved from the user mines on the above product.

In excercise of the power  conferred on the Chief Inspector of Mines also designated as Director General of Mines Safety, under Regulation 2(d) & 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulation, 2017 and Regulation 2(2) of the Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961, I, hereby grant renewal of approval (SA-02/2013) of Miner’s Safety LED Cap Lamp Model “Smartlite-L” conforming to IS/IEC 60079-11:2006 and IS/IEC 60079-0:2007 (IS/IEC60079-11:2011 & IS/IEC60079-0:2017 ) manufactured by M/s Industrial Precision Products, Kolkata for use in underground mines.

The renewal of the Approval is subjected to the following conditions:

1. All the conditions of the approval granted vide this Directorate letters No. S-66021/12/2012-Genl/220 dated 24.01.2013 and S-66021/12/2012-Genl/RP-53 dated 30.04.2015 shall remain unchanged except the validity.
2. The  renewal shall be valid for the period of 05 years i.e upto 23.01.2030.
3. Further renewal of the approval can be sought through online application at least 90 days prior to the expiry of the validity.
4. The manufacturer shall have a valid BIS certification.
5. The product shall be tested at any Govt./Govt. Approved laboratory whenever standard of testing regime changes and the approval is revalidated from this Directorate under new/revised testing standard (s).
