Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Intrinsically Safe Power Supply Unit Type – ST3 rated at 110V/ 15V (Intrinsically Safe) manufactured by M/s. Mine Line Pvt. Ltd. conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017, IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 and IEC 60079-11:2011 for use in belowground coal mine – Permissible variation thereof.
Reference: (1) Field trial approval Field Trial Approval No. 13/07/2021, issued vide Letter No. NO: E-29021|30864|2021|Electrical(HQ), Dhanbad, Date: 13/07/2021.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021|62235|2025|Electrical (HQ) dated 13.02.2025 on the above subject & Test Reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
The matter has since been examined and I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 and in reference to the above field trial approvals granted by this Directorate, test reports as listed in the Annexure "A" and based on the performance report received from SRP 1 UG Mine, Srirampur of M/s. Singareni Collieries Co. Ltd., the Director of Mines Safety, South Central Zone, Hyderabad, the Kurja belowground coal mines of M/s South Eastern Coalfields limited and the Director of Mines Safety, Northern Zone, Ghaziabad, hereby approve the inclusion of the apparatus as listed in the Annexure-A under the DGMS Approval No. 791 of 2022 for use in belowground coal Mines in India.
In the interest of safety, the OEM guidelines shall be adhered to and spares, supplied by OEM shall only be used while maintaining the apparatus. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the regular approval.
