Subject: Aapproval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof and Intrinsically safe electrical equipment of approval No. 720 of 2017 associated with 621 SDL (As per Annexure-B), manufactured by M/S Eimco Elecon (India) Ltd., Vallabh Vidyanagar for use in belowground Coal Mines – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021/61352/2022/Electrical (HQ) dated 07.09.2022 and offline application No. EIM/ENGG/PGG/0709/DGMS/387 dated 07.09.2022 on the above subject & test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 720 of 2017) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 321/220/EHQ dated 10.02.2017 for a further period of five years, i.e. up to 10.02.2027 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under this approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
