DGMS Approval No. 489 of 2003

Sub:   Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof Fluorescent Tube Light Fitting in mild steel/cast iron construction designated by type No. FTL-40, rated 2X20 W, 125 V AC (max.) for Group-I atmosphere manufactured by M/s Safex (India), Dhanbad, conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 for use in belowground Coal Mines–Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021|62680|2026|Electrical(HQ) dated  26.12.2025, on the above subject and CIMFR test report Nos. IN/CIMFR/ TR23/R/H100 dated 16.06.2023, and IN/CIMFR/TR23/S/H287 dated 03.11.2023, BIS License No.CM/L – 5063756 and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 489 of 2003) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 429/162/EHQ dated 31.01.2003 for a further period of five years, i.e. up to 31.01.2031 from the date of expiry 31.01.2026  for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with.

Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
