Subject:-Renewal of Approval No. 448 of 1996 under Regulation 208(3) of CMR 2017 for Mine Line make Flameproof DOL Starter Type EX630S rated up to 180KW 6600V 3Phase, 50Hz conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 for use in belowground Coal Mines Renewal approval thereof.

Please refer to your online application no. E-29021/62409/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 11/06/2025 on the above subject and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

In exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, I hereby renew the (DGMS Approval No. 448 of 1996) issued vide Directorate’s Letter No.333/870/EHQ dtd 21008.1996   for a further period of five years, i.e., up to 14/08/2030 for use in belowground Coal Mines.  The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters shall be strictly complied with. You are requested to submit the compliance with clause 26.4.5 and other applicable clauses of IS/IEC: 60079-2017 within three months after issue of this letter, failing which this approval is liable to be withdrawn. 

Please note that a renewal application should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the approval.
