Subject- Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof/weatherproof light fitting Junction Box in cast iron grade 20 construction, designated by type no. FLP-RH-6000-CI, manufactured by M/s. Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, conforming to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 for use in belowground Coal Mines – Permissible variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 62688 dated 03/01/2026 for permissible variation, test reports and other supporting documents submitted therewith on the above-mentioned subject.

The matter has since been examined and based on the CIMFR test and Assessment Report no. IN/CIMFR/TR20/H248 Dated.10/12/2020, Type Examination Certificate no. CMF 20 INEx 0442, Issue no.0 Dated.08/12/2020, Drawing no. FEPL/JB/6000/CI, Rev-03 Dated. 18/09/2020 ; CIMFR Supplementary Test & Assessment Report No IN/CIMFR/TR20/S/H278 Dated.17/12/2020, Type Examination Certificate no. CMF 20 INEx 0442, Issue no.1 Dated.16/12/2020, Amendment letter no. CIMFR / FES/Amend. /FEPL/127/25-26 Dated.18/09/2025 and the declaration of the manufacturer, the following permissible variation is allowed without affecting flameproof features/gross volume of the above apparatus subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in approval No.618 of 2011.

The details shall be read as part of the renewal:-

1. BIS License No. CM/L-0000850855 with endorsement no. 142 dated 06/02/2025 and  CIMFR Test and Assessment Report No. IN/CIMFR/TR20/H248 dated.10/12/2020, Type Examination Certificate no. CMF 20 INEx 0442, Issue no.0 Dated.08/12/2020 & Drawing no. FEPL/JB/6000/CI, Rev-03 Dated. 18/09/2020.

2. The said FLP-WP Junction Box can be used with certified and approved FLP/WP double compression type Brass Ni plated threaded type cable glands Type: FLP-RH-GL-01 to FLP-RH-GL-13 with 5 nos. of M32 in each side (Total 20 nos. on all 4 Sides) or 8 nos. of M25 in each side (Total 32 nos. on all 4 sides) or 10 nos. of M20 in each side (Total 40 nos.  on all 4 sides) or 5 nos. of mining type on each side;

3.The Gross Volume will be 6000 CC & Net Volume will be 5000 CC for FLP-WP Junction Box Type: FLP-RH-6000-CI & Gross Volume will be 8500 CC & Net Volume will be 6000 CC for FLP-WP LCS/Starter/Transformer Enclosure Type: FLP-RH-6001-CI ( Ref. permissible variation letter no. E-29021/30436/2020/EHQ/857 dated 22/12/2020 for DGMS Approval no.618 of 2011)

This letter shall always be accompanied with DGMS approval no.618 of 2011 issued vide this Directorate Letter no. E-29021/62419/2025/Electrical (HQ), Dhanbad dated 14/08/2025.
