Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof Drum controller in mild steel construction. type-“FD 50” rated at 120 A, up to 660 V, 50 Hz, 3 phase for controlling slipping induction motor provided with integral common terminal box for incoming and outgoing and cast iron cable sealing boxes & glands manufactured by Industrial Syndicate, Kolkata for use in belowground coal mines in India- Renewal approval thereof.

Please refer to your online application no. E-29021/62405/2025/Electrical (HQ) dated 06.06.2025 on the above subject and test report no. IN/CIMFR/TR25/R/H 40 dated, BIS Licence no. CM/L-5208857 and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS Approval No. 129 Gr-I of 1977), granted vide this Directorate's letter No. 315/A/76/93/EHQ dated 27/01/1977) for a further period of two years, i.e. up to 30/07/2027  for use in belowground Coal Mines. 

The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest applicable testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.

The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
