Sub:  Renewal of approval of Diesel I.C. Engine operated Shield Hauler, Model FBL55 (SH660D) with wet scrubber and DCS systemM/s Gainwell Engineering Private Limited (Earlier Approval on M/s. Caterpillar Global Mining Europe GmbH, Germany) for use in Belowground Coal Mines.

M-29020|61490 |2023|Mechanical(HQ) dtd. 03.03.2023 & other documents submitted on this Subject.

2. In exercise of the powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations 2017, I hereby renew the validity of approval refer Para1(iii) above to use Diesel I.C. Engine operated Shield Hauler, Model FBL55 (SH660D) with wet scrubber and DCS system supplied by M/s Gainwell Engineering Private Limited at Belowground coal mines for a period of five years i.e. upto 02.12.2030 subject to the conditions mentioned in Ref. Para 1(ii), 1(iii), 1(iv) and the following additional conditions.

(i) Equipment shall be maintained as per DGMS (S&T)/(Tech.) Circular No. 01 Dated 13.08.2018.

(ii) The subject approval is valid for use in Belowground Coal Mines to work at Jhanjra Colliery of M/s Eastern Coalfields Limited, Paschim Bardhaman (West Bengal) only for which performance was submitted.

(iii) The test reports of all 11 nos. Flameproof & Intrinsically Safe Electrical apparatus associated with subject approval (Mentioned in Annexure ‘B’ of  Ref. Para 1(iii) & 1(iv) ) as per the latest applicable testing standards IS/IEC 60079- 0:2017, IS/IEC 60079- 1:2014 & IS/IEC 60079- 11:2023 to be submitted within 90 Days from the date of issue of this letter.
