Subject:   Approval  under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for flameproof/weatherproof light fitting with in-built control gear or separate control gear mounted inside the enclosure in M.S fabricated construction, suitable for rating up to 6x26 W CFL, 110 V AC, designated by type No- FLP-RH-FT-04 manufactured by M/s- Flameproof Equipment’s Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai conforming  to IS/IEC 60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60079-1:2014 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India- Permissible variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 61965 dated 25.06.2024, test reports and other supporting documents submitted therewith on the above-mentioned subject.

The matter has since been examined and based on the CIMFR test report no. IN/CIMFR/TR24/S/H166 dated 14.06.2024 and the associated drawing no. FEPL/RH/FT/04, Rev-06, dated 05.06.2024(Total -1 sheet) and the declaration of the manufacturer, the following permissible variation is allowed without affecting flameproof features/gross volume of the above apparatus subject to fulfilment of the conditions stipulated in approval No. 619 of 2011.

“ Flameproof/weatherproof LED light fitting with Flat toughened Glass in MS Fabricated Construction of rating up to 90 W LED at 110V AC (3x30W or 4 x20W or 2 x 45W combination of COB/SMD/Cluster of LED or combination of 2/3/4 nos. cluster of LED/LED Bulb) may be fitted with in-built or separate isolator /Rotary switch/On-Off switch of rating up to 16Amp, with or without M.S. Wire Guard/Mesh and internal reflector and with up to & including 4 nos. of FLP mining type cable glands or double compression type threaded cable glands having overall length of the fitting up to and including 500mm+/- 10% without any change in the flameproof features and gross volume of the light fitting as approved originally”. 

This letter shall always be accompanied with the approval no.619 of 2011 issued vide letter no.306/273/EHQ, Dhanbad dated 04.02.2011.
