Subject: Approval under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for the inclusion/upgradation of the Flameproof and Intrinsically safe electrical apparatus as listed in the appended Annexure-A associated with Roof Bolter Machine, Model: RR-II, manufactured by M/s. Joy Global(UK) Limited, UK, for use in belowground Coal Mines in India- Amendment approval thereof.

I, in exercise of powers conferred upon Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 and in reference to Field Trial approval issued vide letter No. E-29021/30534/2020/Electrical(HQ), Dhanbad dated 25.03.2021, Test Reports and based on the performance report received from Bicharpur Coal Mine, M/s UltraTech Cement Limited hereby accord the amendment approval to the DGMS Approval No. E_17064/6 of 2019 dated 22.07.2019 for use in belowground Coal Mines in India. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
Please note that application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of the original approval.

(To be read in conjunction with the Annexure-B of the original approval no. E_17064/6 of 2019 issued vide letter no. E-29021/82/2018/Electrical(HQ), Dhanbad, dated 22.07.2019).
