Subject: Approval of Permitted Copper Coated Instantaneous Electric Detonators (CDET Electra-P) for use in belowground coal mines/seams of third-degree gassiness manufactured by M/s CDET Explosive Industries Private limited, Nagpur – Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application vide ID no. 62208 dated 24.01.2025 and offline letter No. AP/DGMS/2024-25/097/HD dated 25.01.25 on the above subject.

In view of satisfactory performance report from the user mines, In exercise of the power conferred on the Chief Inspector of Mines also designated as Director General of Mines Safety under Regulation 2(zu) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, I, hereby  grant the renewal of the approval of Permitted Copper Coated Instantaneous Electric Detonators (CDET Electra-P) for use in belowground coal mines/seams of third-degree gassiness manufactured by M/s CDET Explosive Industries Private limited, Nagpur.

The renewal of the Approval is subjected to following conditions:

  1. All the conditions of the approval granted vide this Directorate vide letter No. S 66021/10/2015-Genl/ P-50 dated 10.04.2015. shall remain unchanged except the validity of the approval.
  2. Regulation 2(23) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 1957 mentioned the said letter shall be read as Regulation 2(zu) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017.
  3. The validity of the renewal shall be for the period of 02 years i.e up to 09.04.2027 or till phase out of the electric detonator as per the guidelines and the timeframe governed by the Gazette notification no. S.O.1563(E)/or  of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce regarding phasing out of the electric detonator, whichever is earlier.
  4. All precaution in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 applicable for transport, storage, handling, charging, use and firing of the explosive in  mines shall be complied.
  5. Any accident, injuries including loss of lives or properties caused due to defects of malfunctioning of this product shall be adequately indemnified by the manufacturer in agreement with the users.
