Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Intrinsically safe Loud hailing communication system, Model- MIC 101 PT(WR) manufactured by M/s. Mimec Electronics Pvt. Ltd, Ranchi, for use in belowground Coal Mines in India –Renewal thereof.

Please refer to your online application No. E-29021|62408|2025|Electrical (HQ) dated 07/06/2025 on the above subject and test reports and other documents submitted therewith in this regard.
I, in exercise of powers conferred upon the Chief Inspector of Mines (also designated as Director General of Mines Safety) under Regulation 208(3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017, hereby renew the approval (DGMS APPROVAL NO.-734 of 2018) granted vide this Directorate's letter No. E-29021|61742|2023|Electrical(HQ) Dhanbad, Date: 20.12.2023 for a further period of Five years, i.e., up to 08.08.2030 for use in belowground Coal Mines. The conditions mentioned in the original approval and subsequent renewal letters, if any, shall be strictly complied with, and the test reports of all the electrical items covered under approval, conforming to the latest testing standards, shall be submitted within three months, if not submitted before.
Condition: The BIS certification conforming to the applicable standard IS/IEC 60079-11:2023 must be submitted to this Directorate within three (03) months from the date of issue of the renewal approval. Failure to comply may result in the permission being revoked.
The application for renewal should be made at least three (03) months before the date of expiry of this approval.
