Subject: Approval under Regulation 208 (3) of the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 for Flameproof/Weatherproof enclosure for Junction Box, rated upto 15A, 500V (AC) or 3A, 24V (DC), Type: FLP-RH-1100A-CI-1 manufactured by M/s. Flameproof Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai conforming to IS/IEC 60079-1:2014, IS/IEC:60079-0:2017 and IS/IEC 60529:2001 (Reaffirmed 2014) for use in belowground coal mines in India– Permissible Variation thereof.

Please refer to your online application ID: 61561 dated 10.05.2023 and offline letter no. FEPL/HBD/DGD/DGMS/411/2023 dated 11.05.2023 on the above mentioned subject.
The matter has since been examined and based on the CIMFR clarification letter No. CIMFR/TC/FES/Clari./23-24/365 dated 10.05.2023, IN/CIMFR/TR20/H256 dated 14.12.2020, CMF20 INEx 0443 dated 11.12.2020 & Drawing No. FEPL/LPI/1100A-C1, Rev-6 dated 18.09.2020 following permissible variation may be allowed without affecting flameproof features of the subject equipment subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in DGMS approval No. E_12298/5 of 2019
“Flameproof /Weatherproof Enclosure Type: FLP-RH-1100A-CI-1 can be used as FLP-WP Enclosure/Housing for mounting certified and approved Intrinsically Safe Power Supply Unit/ Circuit designated by Type: IS-RH-PSU-01 vide test report no : IN/CIMFR/TR22/P/H114 Dtd 24/06/2022 as per IS:IEC 60079-11/2011 rated at input 110/550V AC & Output 9/12/15/24V DC with max current 350mA housed in certified and approved FLP Enclosure Box duly connected with FLP/WP Double Compression type Threaded Cable Glands designated by Type : FLP-RH-GL-01 to FLP-RH-GL-13 duly Certified & Approved for Gas Group 1 as per CIMFR Cert No: IN/CIMFR/TR21/S/4133 Dtd 22/02/2021 or Mining Type Cable Glands for use in Intrinsically Safe Network Communication System Type: FEPL-RH-NCS & Intrinsically Safe Audio Visual Alarm Type: IS-RH-AVA-01 by maintaining the FLP Features suitable for Gas Group 1 Atmosphere”.
This letter shall always be accompanied with the DGMS approval . E_12298/5 of 2019 issued vide this Directorate letter no. E-29021/50/2017/Electrical(HQ) dated 25.11.2019 and Directorate’s valid approval and renewal letter under reference.
